How to get a beautiful skin & healthy, shiny hair !
Find out about the magic of Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil has many uses in a wide variety of industries. As a cosmetic, it is an effective cleanser, conditioner, moisturizer, and softener for the skin and hair.It is applied directly to the skin to soften the skin, to reduce wrinkles and stretch marks, to lighten and help heal scars, and to promote healthy scalp and hair. It is widely used as an ingredient in shampoos, conditioners, facial, hand and body lotions, cuticle and nail care products, baby care lotions, creams, and oils, cleansers, moisturizers, bath oils and soaps, sunscreen lotions, and makeup products Jojoba oil is similar to, and miscible with, sebum, which is secreted by human sebaceous glands to lubricate and protect skin and hair. When sebum production decreases due to age, pollutants, or environmental stresses, jojoba oil can be used to replicate sebum oil.
The potential therapeutic uses of jojoba oil include the treatment of acne, cold sores, and such skin diseases as psoriasis.
What is Unique about Jojoba?
1. Dry Skin- Jojoba mimics the sebum found naturally in human skin and can replenish skin that has become dry due to age, weather, environmental pollutants or stresses. It forms a lipid layer on the skin, acting as a moisturizer, as well as penetrating and being absorbed by the outer layer of skin.
2. Wrinkles- Jojoba protects skin cells and reduces wrinkles. Studies have shown a noticeable reduction of fine lines even eight hours after application.
3. Acne and Oily Skin- Jojoba dissolves excess sebum which clogs pores preventing normal transpiration and causes acne. Used twice daily after thoroughly cleansing skin, Jojoba can eliminate blemishes.
4. Abrasions- Minor skin irritations and injuries can be treated with Jojoba. It is anti-biotic and anti-fungal, will prevent infections from developing in exposed abrasions and speed the healing process while preventing scar tissue from forming.
5. Dry Hair and Scalp – When sebum production decreases hair can become brittle and weak. Jojoba reconditions hair follicles and shafts for natural luster and shine and prevents the hair becoming brittle and dull. If sebum production is excessive, hair follicles can become blocked and hair can also become too dry and breakable. Jojoba dissolves excess sebum and allows pores to transpire normally. It can also dissolve sticky residue from hair products and airborne pollutants.
6. Allergies- Jojoba is naturally hypo-allergenic and one clinical study showed that only two out of fifty people with known skin allergies had any reaction to it. These two cases were mild and cleared up within 24 hours.
7. After Sun Care – Jojoba is an excellent skin rejuvenator for after extended sun can increase deep tanning while preventing painful burns.
8. Infant Care- Jojoba is safe for all sensitive skin, including newborns. It is very useful for “infant acne” and “cradle cap”.
9. Scars and Stretch Marks- Jojoba has been shown to greatly reduce scar tissue making it an excellent choice for pregnant mothers and those recovering from surgeries.
10. Psoriasis- The Ben Gurion University of Israel has proved the amazing curative results of Jojoba application to skin affected by psoriasis.
11. Nail Care- When applied the cuticles Jojoba can strengthen and fortify brittle nails.
Precautions
Jojoba oil is a nontoxic, noncomedogenic (does not clog pores), and hypoallergenic substance. It has been widely used for decades in cosmetics, with no reported adverse effects. If jojoba oil is ingested, most of it is eliminated in the feces, with little getting distributed in the body.
Side effects
No side effects are expected with the use of jojoba oil in recommended amounts, although allergic reactions are a rare possibility.
Interactions
Since jojoba oil does not oxidize or become rancid, it is added to other oils to extend their shelf life.
Key Terms
A substance that contains nothing that would cause blackheads or pimples to form on the skin.
Reviews
1. I read about this product on the Makeup Alley website, and since it’s so cheap I thought I’d give it a whirl. All I can say is, WOW! I am 39 with combination skin which has been breaking out lately, so I needed something to calm my skin down. This may sound strange, because it’s an oil, but this product did not cause me to break out! In fact, just the opposite happened. My skin literally drank it in (no oily residue) and in the morning, my face was soft and much clearer. I use it after cleansing at night (with purity made simple) and it works wonders. This is a terrific buy for anyone with easily aggravated skin. Try it, you might be pleasantly surprised!
2. I have been fighting breakouts for decades. I have sensitive, acne prone, combo, thick skin. I would never dream of putting oil on my face regularly. I am very happy with the results. 2 drops after cleansing has been the best for my face. It doesn’t clog my pores at all. It is supposed to be the closest oil match to our natural skin oil. It seems to clears out the existing acne. The oil works on my hair to get rid of fly-a-ways and frizz. I use it on my daughter’s hair and skin (and she has sensitive normal to dry skin). I use for baby massages also. It so is lightweight.

Hi,
My son suffers from chronic acne and so has to be very carefulwhat he puts on his skin.
Do you think that Jojoba would be of any help to him?
All the best
Dave
November 3rd, 2008 at 13:24
Hello Dave,
Yes Jojoba would be helpful for your sons acne. There are two things your son should do
1. Sauna , Saunas have been shown to improve the skin of those with excema, acne and other skin problems. Cleansing toxins from our bodies helps with this. By increasing our body temperature and heart rate we also increase the blood flow to our skin significantly. The increase in blood to our skin helps sweep away toxins and also brings more nutrients and oxygen to the skin which aids in healing.
2. After sauna he should take a clean make up remover pad (plain one without no cleaning solution in it) and put 100% organic jojoba oil in it and clean his face.
This should help him to get rid of the acne and leave no scars.
Let me know if you need more data I am happy to be able to help
Best regards,
Erika

I have tried it once for my acne but I don’t find it particularly effective. I don’t know. Maybe different people require different solutions when it comes to skin problems.

but I want other people to share their experiences too! Let me know what you think about it
Warmest wishes,

Hello Jo and thanks for visiting my blog. That is great that you are satisfied on using Jojoba. I love it and use it from make up remover to moisturizer to lip care and even when I burn my fingers in cooking I use Jojoba to handle the burn and it handles it instantly.

January 23rd, 2009 at 13:24
I heard that jojoba plus tea tree oil was good for scalp plaques (psoriasis) and I tried it, just on a couple of spots and just for a day, as it made my hair oily and I wanted to wash it. In just that one day, it had a marked healing effect, without even adding the tea tree oil!
January 26th, 2009 at 13:24
Dear Cheryl, that is great! My mom had the same thing and I had her put jojoba oil on her scalp 3 times during one week. Once the week was over her scalp was completely healed. I myself have had a dry spot on my left arm for years and while I tried all the creams etc possible it just never went away. When I started using jojoba, it took 2 weeks and since then that try spot is history. Thanks for your comment

Hello. Great job.
February 8th, 2009 at 13:24
Nice looking site!
I am sure that it’s just cause I have lived a sheltered life, but I don’t recall seeing sauna as part of a cure of skin conditions. It would open up the pores.
One wonders if those mineral springs mud baths would help as well.
February 10th, 2009 at 13:24
Hi there Sacred Circles, thanks for your comment! Handling skin conditions is the additional benefit sauna has. Your pores open up and if you gently rub your skin you can actually feel and see the dead skin pealing off.
As to mud baths I do not know as I am not familiar with them, never had one.

Jojoba oil is very well comparable to the oil derived from the sperm whale and it came into being in around 1970 when killing of whales for commercial use was banned.
May 12th, 2009 at 13:24
Interesting.. should I try those tips?
May 13th, 2009 at 13:24

Wonderful Blog and Info. Thank you. Until now I had only seen it on shampoo labels.
September 28th, 2009 at 13:24
Jojoba oil I heard of it for the first time and when I gone through the magic of jojoba oil it was a good product for body. It’s useful to all ages especially when our sebum production decreases. It’s mostly used for decades in cosmetics with no reported effects. When we use jojoba oil it doesn’t give any side effects to the person. If these oil can cure any problem which is mention above than its better to use jojoba oil instead of going to the medicine store to buy medicine for allergies, scars and stretch marks and so on. I love to try this oil out as I have Dry Hair and Scalp. I enjoyed reading this post. Hope you produce a better product in future.

November 22nd, 2009 at 13:24
My skin is pretty oily – do you think this would be suitable?
November 23rd, 2009 at 13:24
A minute’s success pays the failure of years.
November 24th, 2009 at 13:24
Hello Alexis and thank you for your comment. Due to the fact that Jojoba oil is actually a liquid wax it is not acting like an oil on your skin but takes the natural composition of your skin and nourishes it and makes it soft and beautiful without making it oily. Good post! Thank you I learned a lot from it. I think the power of natural substances is truly amazing. Look at all the benefits you listed for this! Wow! I suffered from acne when I was a teen and wish I had this knowledge back then. It is nice that people today who suffer with acne have all this knowledge. Just think, if they would just clean up their diet and get balance to their lives everything would benefit and not just their skin.
